Press/Media -Democrats Will Run Against Robert Hurt As A Tax Raiser-
| Moneta, Virginia - Contrary to Robert Hurt's campaign brochures that promote the message that "ROBERT HURT HAS VOTED TO CUT TAXES MORE THAN 50 TIMES" without citation, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launched today a Press Release that stated: "Hurt has voted to authorize 28 different taxes and fees plus his one vote for a $1.4 billion tax increase ... a combined total of over $2 billion. Among others, Hurt voted to increase abusive driver fees, diesel gasoline taxes, registration taxes and hunting license fees. He even authorized raising the cost of buying and selling a home." McKelvey said: "I am totally against raising taxes and fees that hurt our economy. I am the true conservative Republican candidate. It is clear, when one views the facts on taxes, Robert Hurt is running away from a record that he simply cannot defend. This just proves the point that Robert Hurt and Tom Perriello are both big tax and spend politicians."  |
