I am a descendent of immigrants, legal immigrants. We have a national crisis in illegal immigrants however. We cannot continue to allow unregulated, free flowing access to our Country. The implications of this type of invasion are dire. Our porous borders contribute to not only the invasion of our Country by foreign nationals, and national security (for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is terrorism) but it also has great consequences for our economy as well.
National Security
Do not believe for one moment that the only people crossing our borders are “undocumented workers” looking for a menial job; the type of job American’s won’t do. This is a fallacy. It would be extremely difficult for even so-called experts to determine the number of terrorists, weapons, and money that traverse our borders daily. The ramifications of this inexcusable lack of attention to border security have yet to fully be appreciated.
Health Care
A point often overlooked in politics today is that in America, if you are in need of medical attention, you get it. Your ability to pay is secondary to urgent medical care. The cost of those unable to pay is passed on to not only insurances but also to the paying patients. When illegal aliens use this system their cost are passed onto the insurance companies and other paying patients. Is it any wonder he have a health care crisis this America? Fix illegal immigration, and you fix a small part of the health care crisis.
Schools
America’s education system has no idea how much money is spent educating illegal immigrants. Reports vary from 1.9 billion to 273 billion. We hear repeatedly that our schools are underfunded, whereas I disagree with that premise, these billions would go a long way balance the states’ school budgets.
